Products - Technology
The technology to convert sunlight into electrical power, also called photovoltaic (PV), is widely-used today. Normally, a module consists of crystalline cells which are laminated in a composite film to glass for a rigid bond. Other modules consist of thin-film cells with lower efficiency rate which are sputtered directly to glass or foil. The latter can also be flexible. The technology of SUNOVATION® combines the advantages of the crystalline cells with their high efficiency and the advantages of the thin-film modules on foil concerning the flexibility. This results in the following unique features:

Robust & Flexible: Complying with highest security standards our modules are impact-resistant, suitable for seawater environment and break-proof. Normally, the panels are produced in a flat shape and can afterwards be clamped in a curved shape (cold straining). By using a hot straining process it is even possible to produce spherical shaped modules – and each module has high efficiency through crystalline cells. |

Light-weight: Using transparent modules the SUNOVATION® Modules save up to 2/3 of the weight of glass-glass modules. That means the SUNOVATION® Modules has around the same weight like a glass-foil module (standard PV module). |

Integrative: SUNOVATION® Modules are not only optimally suitable to integrate into pre-defined forms, they offer also further functions like heat insulation, protection against vandalism or indirect illumination. |

Freedom of design: Both outlines, colour and transparency of the modules can be defined individually by the customer. |

| Unique: Applying the newly developed plastic materials in combination with light technology offers excellent possibilities of creating products that give exciting opportunities especially to architects and product designers. |
