The SUNOVATION® module at the trade fair “Ambiente”
Elsenfeld, 20.2.2009 At the world’s largest consumer goods trade fair, “Ambiente” in Frankfurt, Sunplastics’ SUNOVATION® Module was presented to a wide audience.
Just inside the foyer with its arched glass roof, visitors were received at the stand of pro-K, the German “Industrial Association of Plastic Semi-finished and Consumer Products”, where Sunplastics were officially presented with the “Product of the Year 2009“ award for their SUNOVATION® Module. The module proved a real eye-catcher: a displayed example with transparent solar cells gave visitors an impressive illustration of the possibilities offered by this technology.
This year, 135,000 trade visitors made their way to Ambiente in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. More than 4000 exhibitors from 86 countries presented their products here between 13th and 17th February.
Sunplastics GmbH is a manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) modules, with close connections to the plastics industry as well as to the solar industry. The company’s core competence is in the production of photovoltaic modules. Modern, high-grade plastics are used instead of glass, and the solar cells are not laminated on to glass as is customary, but cast in a plastic encapsulation (SUNOVATION® Technology). This technology has proven its worth over 12 years of use. SUNOVATION® Modules are used mainly in architecture, street furniture, and in mobile applications such as cars and boats.
